Z-drugs on the RADAR

Lifeline has periodically been running a type of early warning research called RADAR. Last year we adapted this research method and piloted a version that attempted to find out what our services are actually seeing. One of the issues that was highlighted was the injection of zopiclone and other (so called) z-drugs in the north east of England. This led us to do a dedicated RADAR report with local agencies and to develop a leaflet aimed at users in the North East. We are now able to release this information and make the report and leaflet available as downloads for those who may be experiencing similar situations or are just plain interested in the subject.

Who do they tell? (A46)
8 page booklet detailing the records that are kept by drug services about their clients and in what circumstances information is shared. Includes information about the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System and the Treatments Outcome Profile.
Alcopops Poster (K1)
The poster and postcards feature information on: drinking, driving and overcrowding cars; advertising; alcohol content; drinking to appear hard, risky situations; drinking alone and helping friends. Space is provided for local information.
The Speedball Wake Up Call
There is much indirect evidence, and a small amount of direct evidence, that speedballing the multi-injection of heroin with crack/cocaine in the same shot
has grown substantially in Britain over the past decade. It is estimated that around one in three British drug injectors is now into speedballing about 60,000 people.
