In 1971 the Lifeline Project opened a daycentre for drug users in Manchester. Since its foundation Lifeline has grown and developed, and now works in a diverse range of settings across the UK. Our purpose is to relieve poverty, sickness and distress among those persons affected by addiction to drugs of any kind, and to educate the public on matters relating to drug misuse.

Issues Paper: Young People’s Substance Misuse Services

This paper was originally intended to consider how young people’s substance misuse services (YPSMS) integrate appropriately into the children’s agenda at local level. However as there have been recent changes in relation to the funding, commissioning, and potential future of some services there is a need to consider wider issues. The paper argues that integrating services effectively and meaningfully still remains central to the survival of YPSMS. It is therefore important for the sector to begin to discuss how to continue to be successful, ensuring sustainability in a complex and changing policy arena... |

Subutex/Suboxone use by prison inmates
HMP and NOMS North East Area have commissioned a booklet following work with Lifeline Project to address the problems related to Subutex use by inmates. The release of the booklet follows a controversial Channel 4 Newsnight item and an article in Druglink Magazine, which highlighted the need for coherent information and practices with inmates.
